New Android market

The new Android market looks nice, but it's more annoying to actually install and read updates. It was nice having the install buttons at the bottom for easy access with your thumb. It was also easier to read what is new, now you have to scroll down and then tap "more" and then scroll down even more just to see the changes. It was easier to review the app, thanks to a separate screen just for reviews. Why are they cramming everything onto one screen?

Tired of these things on the Evo

I'm tired of these problems with the Evo:

Voice mail quality is terrible. This could be Sprint's service, and it's likely, but creating a voice mail greeting that sounds good is impossible. No matter how loud or clear you or your source is, it always sounds like a crap.

Sometimes if someone calls me, the call doesn't go through. I won't receive the call, and won't receive the voice mail for hours later. This could possibly be my phone, I plan on formatting it when 2.3 is released.

Short text doesn't work. If you want to text #### for instance, it won't send.

Pointless Sprint apps. I NEVER use the preloaded apps. I can't remove Qik, and now every time I go to check for app updates, it's there. I don't want to update it. There is currently an update from Sprint that includes EVEN MORE crapps, and I refuse to update. Though, when 2.3 comes out, they'll probably include them anyway.

Otherwise, the phone is still fun.

Winamp on Android

I am so surprised about this. They've been working on an Android app, and I'm happy about it. The beta is now on the market, and I've been using it for a while now. It's got a great start, but it still needs work. Here are the things I'd like improved about it:
"Stop and quit after current track" button on unlock screen to stop music and save battery.
Download pic for album with missing art.
Control Winamp like a remote, including searching through your library
Stream Winamp library on the fly, any format, to the phone. Kinda like Orb, but free and using your Winamp library.

Also, HTC updated the Evo a while ago and fixed many of the issues I was having, and even unlocked the framerate. Still, I'd like to have a custom phone number description and an unlock screen wallpaper different from the current wallpaper.

Frustration between versions of Android

It frustrates me that things are removed between Android versions. A friend of mine who has the Eris has an option to have a lock screen wall paper, but I don't. Eris is still running 2.1, and I never had that option. It also has more options for phone number descriptions, but no custom option, which is weird cause when Evo was 2.1, it was there.

2.2 on the Evo

Is annoying as hell! These are the problems I have had:
Camera: video recording skips randomly during playback, gets worse with good lighting.
Contacts: lost the option to add a custom label for each phone number.
Pandora: low quality on either setting.
Games: some games make clicking noises when sounds are played.

So far, I'd rather have 2.1 back. I haven't noticed any speed or battery improvements.

The only things I like about the update is that there is a "update all" button for your apps, and the phone has more compatibility for USB wires.

Intel Desktop Board DP45SG audio issues

If you, like me, have this board "Intel Desktop Board DP45SG" you might have problems playing audio through the back or front panel's analog output. The sound will cut out every few seconds if the volume is too loud. I've found, though a search on Google, that other people have this problem too. I don't use the front panel, so as suggested by others, I unplugged the connector from my motherboard, and the sound comes out right.

I talked to a live chat person on the Intel site, and he said I might have the wrong connector connected. You can connect either AC97 or HD to the motherboard, and I had AC97 connected. He said contact the chassis manufacturer to know which one to connect. I suggested they add this issue to their support section on their website, but the live chatter suggested that this page is publicly here for everyone to see:

Without drivers installed, the analog out works fine, but you can't use the optical out at all. Somehow I doubt they are going to update their drivers to deal with the issue.

Update: They have updated the drivers, but I have no idea what they've changed, and I'm not trying it anytime soon as I've already unplugged all the wires from the motherboard. I can't find any kind of change log, so be my guest and try them yourself:

Messing with the Android live wallpaper

So I've discovered the wallpaper "Shake Them All" and found a way to create my own custom "droid" which happened to be the Horizons sign lol
